Quad Cities Corporate Games 2024 Champions Announced

DAVENPORT, Iowa, Aug. 9, 2024 – Winners of the fourth annual Quad Cities Corporate Games will be recognized at ImpactLife Blood Center, Friday, August 23, at 12:00 p.m. in Bettendorf. Thirty-two local businesses and organizations participated in over 25 sports and events from June 1 through July 31 as part of the Corporate Games. The games grew from 5,000 participants in 2023 to 5,700 participants in 2024, as more and more companies and employees enjoy this exciting event.

“The 2024 Quad Cities Corporate Games energy was electric,” says Chuck Long, CEO & Executive Director of the Quad Cities Corporate Games. “Teams brought their A-game, bonded over friendly competition, and made a positive impact in the local community! It’s all about fun, team building, and giving back; a win-win for everyone! Be sure to check us out at www.quadcitiescorporategames.org and join us for all the fun in 2025!”

Corporate champions (listed in order of first, second, third, and fourth place):
  • Division 1: City of Bettendorf; Community Health Care, Inc; Crawford Company; RSM US LLP
  • Division 2: Von Maur; Lincoln Electronic Automation; 7th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services; Vibrant Credit Union
  • Division 3: MidAmerica Basement Systems; O’Rourke Sales Company; Estes Construction; Visit Quad Cities | The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois
Employees participated in a variety of sports, events, and challenges to earn company points. City of Bettendorf narrowly repeated as Division 1 champion in 2024. MidAmerica Basement System captured the Division 3 championship and have now won a championship in two of the three years they have competed.

Division 2 was extremely competitive with Von Maur taking home the Cup in only their second year after coming up just short in 2023. Von Maur adds to their trophy case with the Volunteer Service Award as well.

Kayley Larson, Vibrant Credit Union administrator for Division 2 winners of the Meals From the Heartland Challenge Award has this to say about their experience, “The Corporate Games is such a unique and worthwhile experience. You have the opportunity to form connections with coworkers that you might not even get to see during the day because you work in different departments or buildings and make some awesome memories. You're also interacting with companies from all over town, which gives you the chance to learn more about those companies and make new friends. What’s not to like about friendly competition, winning medals, and seeing people shine in events they love!”

Blood Donation Challenge and Volunteer Service Awards
In addition to the physical activities offered, challenges were offered to promote service within the community. The Blood Donation Challenge was held in partnership with ImpactLife Blood Center. Supplies of blood products typically run low in the summer, and the Corporate Games companies were able to help increase donations during these crucial months. New this year was The Meals from the Heartland Challenge as a part of the first ever Quad Cities Hunger Fight and saw outstanding participation as over 52,000 meals were packed.

Top Blood Donation Challenge donors:
  • Division 1: City of Bettendorf
  • Division 2: Quad Cities Bank & Trust/QCR Holdings
  • Division 3: Estes Construction
Many companies supply volunteers to assist with the operation of the events during the Corporate Games. The companies with the most volunteers in each division were given the Volunteer Service Award.

Volunteer Division winners:
  • Division 2: Von Maur
  • Division 3: Visit Quad Cities | Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois
